Girls on Ice Canada Clothing Drive
Girls On Ice (GOI) is a tuition-free, science-immersion summer wilderness expedition offered in partnership with Girls on Ice Canada (GOIC) and The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC). Its unique model interweaves science, art and adventure to inspire leadership, curiosity and confidence among Canadian teenage girls who would not typically have access to such experiences.

Girls are chosen to reflect ethnic, economic and geographic diversity. The 2019 program will be based out of the ACC’s Asulkan Cabin in Glacier National Park, where girls will spend 6 days in July with female mountain guides, scientists and artists, exploring glaciers, conducting science experiments and learning about life.

Clothing Drive in Canmore
Because Girls on Ice Canada is aimed at underprivileged young women who have never been on glaciers and who aren’t kitted out for mountain travel, we’re collecting gently-used gear for them.
If you’re looking to clear out some of your old gear to make room for new this summer, please consider a donation to Girls on Ice. The drop off is at Gear Up Sports in Canmore on June 6, 2:00 - 5:30pm.

Girls on Ice Pack Partner
We’re very pleased to announce that Osprey has been designated as the “Official Pack Partner” of the ACC and of the Girls on Ice Canada program. Participants on this program will be set up with a sweet new mountaineering pack for the week (and to take home) courtesy of our good friends at Osprey.

Girls on Ice Canada is also looking for female-identifying volunteers to help porter food and gear up to (on July 28) and out from (on August 3) the Asulkan Cabin in Rogers Pass, BC. Please see this application form for more info and to sign up.
